ART ON WATER CALL FOR ENTRIES
October 10 – 11, 2009
Install your original floating, stationary or kinetic piece in Houston’s City Hall Reflection Pond (Hermann Square) 901 Bagby between Walker St. & McKinney St.
Open to individuals, groups and students, piece will be on display for three days to over 30,000 art festival patrons.
Art on Water, presented by Art Colony Association, invites artists to submit a rendering and description of their Art on Water project for consideration now through September 18, 2009. Fifteen (15) pieces will be chosen for the exhibit by festival staff and invited outside jurors. Sunday, October 11, the Festival art jurors will award cash honors to the 1st ($500), 2nd ($250) & 3rd ($150) place artists.
REQUIREMENTS
Deadline: Application form/rendering by September 18, 2009
Size: Maximum 6’ base; no height restrictions
Materials: Must be waterproof and non-bio-degradable. All artworks must utilize the pool aesthetic or water and must be floating unless preapproved. Floating works must be weighted with approved plastic weights.

Use of any material that will disintegrate, dissolve,
or in anyway damage the reflecting pool or stain
the water or concrete is strictly prohibited.
No advertisements or name recognition allowed on art work.

Launch Time: Tentatively, Friday, October 9, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. (this date and time may change due to TV Coverage schedule) at Hermann Square Reflection Pool.
