ART COLONY ASSOCIATION INC.

The Art Colony Association Inc., (501)(c), provides unique art experiences and education for the greater Houston community by bringing diverse artists to Bayou City Art Festivals and supporting local non-profit organizations.

The Bayou City Art Festival is Houston’s iconic art festival showcasing the works of 300 artists in 19 different categories at Bayou City Art Festival Memorial Park in the spring and Bayou City Art Festival Downtown in the fall.

  • Originally the Westheimer Colony Art Festival, now known as Bayou City Art Festival.

  • Local 501 (c) (3) Nonprofit Organization.

  • Festivals are funded in part by grants from the City of Houston through the Houston Arts Alliance, corporate sponsorships, private contributions, in-kind support and volunteer assistance. 

  • Producer of the Downtown & Memorial Park Bayou City Art Festivals for over the 50 years.

  • Responsible for raising over 3.7 million dollars in support of local nonprofit organizations.

  • Juried art festival.

  • Other community initiatives: 10th Annual Middle School Art Competition & Collegiate Art Collective. 

  • The outdoor festival attracts more than 20,000 attendees offering visitors the opportunity to meet with exhibiting artists, buy one-of-a-kind art, enjoy food, music, and entertainment. 

  • Each festival experience showcases an outdoor gallery of original works, one-of-a-kind art, world-class pieces and the opportunity to meet 280 select artists from all over the world.

  • This year’s featured artist is Dewey James, a mixed media artist from Minneapolis, Minnesota that provides a whimsical outlook combining colorful images of nature, cityscapes, and amusements
