Well, Hello There

Welcome to the official blog

for the Bayou City Art Festival. Here you will get an insider look at the festival through interviews with artists, entertainers, partners, and the producers of the Bayou City Art Festival. From booking live music to the process of becoming a participating artist, creating an event like this takes several months and hundreds of individuals bringing their unique talents to the table for an event which has become a Houston staple; a highly anticipated weekend of fine art, live music, and delicious food.

Since its beginning nearly 50 years ago, the festival has evolved from an art fair in the streets of Montrose to a biannual event that attracts artists from all over the U.S. and over 30,000 patrons in the spring at Memorial Park and downtown Houston in the fall. While 2020 has been a particularly challenging year for live events and artists, there is no better time to get to know some of the individuals who make this event happen year after year.

We look forward to bringing you “backstage” as we share personalities and stories from this side of the festival. We invite you to participate by sending us your thoughts. Is there a specific artist you’d like to know more about? Have you ever wondered how the road closures work? Do you have favorite memories from a festival? Send us your ideas and suggestions at info@bayoucityartfestival.com.

Stay tuned and become better acquainted with the Bayou City Art Festival.
