Get Informed
As a volunteer, you are representing Bayou City Art Festival, and people will come to you with questions. Prepare yourself by reading through our website and be sure to read emailed communications from our volunteer coordinator leading up to the festival. We want you to be prepared so you have the best experience possible!
Dress for the Weather
You will be provided with a volunteer t-shirt, and you should come prepared with comfortable shoes (there will be a lot of walking), a hat and sunscreen, and a poncho in case it rains.
Stay Hydrated
We will have water at the Volunteer Headquarters tent, so please stop in often to grab a drink.
Be Flexible
Because this is a large event with many moving parts, it’s possible that we may make minute-by-minute changes. If you’re signed up for a specific duty and we ask to reassign you, please be open-minded! We will do our best to keep you where you want to be, but please know that things can change and we love volunteers that are flexible.
AGE POLICY
The minimum volunteer age is 13. Any volunteers under age 18 must have written permission and release of liability signed by parent or guardian and must be properly supervised during the entire shift: one (1) adult, age 21 and over for every five (5) minors ages 13 – 17 and/ or one (1) adult per one (1) minor under the age of 15. Due to liability reasons, any volunteer under age 18 without a signed waiver from parent/guardian, and any group of minors without the proper adult ratio, will not be permitted to volunteer.
